Its now Friday and I have been in Buenos Aires for one week but have been swept up in this world of CITA. Classes start at around 12 each day and end at 7.30pm then there is usually a performance at 11 or 12 and a milonga until 4am.
There are may hot bods in stretchy pants around here and a clear pecking order of hot young porteņo dancers at the top and middle aged americanos at the bottom. The stakes are high to get as much out of this experience as possible by teaming up with another dancer who is as good and hopefully better than you. As you can imagine this equation will at best only produce 50 percent satisfaction.
This is where the "taxi dancer" cames in to fulfill the unfulfilled. There are certified CITA taxi dancers for hire at the office and they are skimmed from the upper eschelons of the pecking order. they are experienced but not expert dancers though this makes very little difference to the middle aged americano/a who hires them. CITA must pay the dancer a cut of the 45 pesos ($15USD) it costs and the dancer also gets a free
Boy BarThis is our local boy bar. No girls are allowed and neither would they wish to...yucky stinky boy germs all over the place and loud salsa music to boot..
class out of it. The drawback is they they will have to dance with some one most like of a lower level of experience as them.
Tango is a social dance and so many people who take up tango donīt necessarily see themselves as "dancers" (a la Fame proportions) but more "lovers" of tango who want to improve their technique. However when the "real dancers" (from the school of Fame) came onto the scene, the lycra begins to fly..............................
Baby look at me
And tell me what you see
You ain't seen the best of me yet
Give me time I'll make you forget the rest
I got more in me
And you can set it free
I can catch the moon in my hands
Don't you know who I am
Remember my name
Fame
I'm gonna live forever
I'm gonna learn how to fly
High
I feel it coming together
People will see me and cry
Fame
I'm gonna make it to heaven
Light up the sky like a flame
Fame
I'm gonna live forever
Baby remember my name
Remember
Remember
Remember
Remember
Remember
Remember
Remember
Remember
Baby hold
me tight
Cause you can make it right
You can shoot me straight to the top
Give me love and take all I've got to give
Baby I'll be tough
Too much is not enough
I can ride your heart til it breaks
Ooh I got what it takes
Fame
I'm gonna live forever
I'm gonna learn how to fly
High
I feel it coming together
People will see me and cry
Fame
I'm gonna make it to heaven
Light up the sky like a flame
Fame
I'm gonna live forever
Baby remember my name
Fame

Hi Pi-wei
I have read many emails in my time but know one has written down the words from the theme song of "Fame" yet. I love those sort of songs and have been teaching the kids such classica as Evil Woman (a song caleb once sang to his six year old girl friend) but their favourite at the moment is "You give love a bad name" by Bon Jovi.
Rock the world baby!!!
Hug
Michael
