Fresh off the bus in La Boca, the dirtiest port in the world. Rach and fellow travellers enjoying the colours.
Second try at this travel blog thing. We initially tried the Fuzzytravel blog site and had very little luck uploading images so here we are. To be honest we liked the layout of the other one better but the interface was just awful. So we will put a link up from there to here and hopefully everyone can follow our wacky adventures over here.
We are a day behind in the updates and will try to get caught up here.

Rachel here! We're sitting in the bar at the hostel catching up on blog entries and planning our Patagonia trek. Tomorrow we fly to El Calafate at 5:40 am so we're psyching ourselves for an early morning wakeup. The rest of our stay in Buenos Aires was maso menos (sp?) We did a walking tour of La Boca which used to be the poor quarter and which is the birthplace of tango. Today it's a colourful artist community full of footie fanatics. We met a Canadian-Australian couple and did some walking with them to Plaza de Mayo and around, and then to a barbecue place recommended by the hostel. I had a yummy salad, chorizo and empanadas (as usual I

What a way to pass the time
didn't have steak at a steakhouse).

Chuck's turn. Rach was going to comment for me so I'll write my own bit. La Boca was very bright and vibrant with a very tourist feel and lots of street performers and annoying store owners. I can't be too critical after doing the same job for a couple months in Greece but it is annoying. The tour was a little dissappointing with very little info but the company was great and the sights were beutiful. The weather here has been perfect and the people are very accomodating. The steak house was schwanky (sp?) and the food good but not great. There was a large protest setting up on one of the main streets apparently due to some form of strike. We have heard that this is a relatively common thing in South America and that they are organized and mostly peaceful. Ok we're behind so we'll move on to tomorrow which at the time of writing is yesterday.
