everyone is white in Buenos Aires. it is SO european. thatīs the first thing we found out when we landed. we drove on a HIGHWAY (we havenīt seen one of those in a few months) to the Hostal Ricoleta. i wasnīt feeling so well on the drive there. i got to the hostel, went inside, and threw up. that put me out of the health competition for Argentina. for the rest of the night, i sat in my bed, miserable, and threw up about 6 more times before 3 am. the rest of the group had a good night. they went out for a big argentinian steak dinner and then went to a techno club to go dancing. finally they came home and chris gave me some meds that helped me stop puking. next morning i woke up and was fine. we went on a small tour of buenos aires (led by Josh, who has lived there and used to be a tour guide) that led us to the bank where we exchanged travelers checks. i dropped off my laundry and went back to the hostal. we had a ton of academics to do, so i went with zoe, corinne, and sam to an internet cafe and we got some work done. then we went back to the hostal so we could go out for lunch. we went to a really good restaurant where i got a tomato, mozzarella, and basil sandwich. i ate half and looked into a cute little boutique with maya. then we went to the ricoleta. coolest cemetary every. it was BEAUTIFUL. we saw evitaīs grave as well as other beautiful graves. it was like a little city. i took a lot of pictures of that too. then we were all really tired, so we went back to the hostel. we went to joshīs house and his mom, who was hilarious, told us stories and served us mate. for dinner we went to a pizza place and got really good pizza. on the way back i got dulce de leche and chocolate ice cream. later, courtney, maya, hanna, yuri, miguel, kyle, josh, chris, and i went out to a hip hop club. we got there at 12 30 and it wasnīt due to open for another hour, so we went and got coffee. the boys, except for josh, disappeared and the rest of us when to the club. we got there 30 minutes after it opened and it was SO COOL. for the first hour or so it was only breakdancing. all these guys were dancing amazingly on the floor. we were enthralled. midway through, chris came and then he and hanna left. shortly after, the dance floor was opened up to everyone. we danced for 2 hours. it was so much fun. it was mostly american music, so we knew all the words and people just copied us. it was a fantastic night.
i need to get off the computer now, but iīll update more later when we get back to buenos aires

I love Dulce de Leche!!! And when we were in Mexico last week, I learned what dulce means! It wasn't quite as, um, native as your travels since we never left the confines of our resort. But we did get to practice a little Spanish.
Sorry you were sick!
