Hola!
I have done lots of exciting things since i last posted an entry, so here goes day by day:
Thursday- At night a group of my classmates and I went and took Tango lessons! It was very fun, but very hard, the lessons were very crowded and only an hour so we only got to learn the basic step. I liked it tho and i think we are going to back and try again soon.
Friday (4th of July)- after I talked with everyone at Momo's I went with a group of friends to see a live Argentinean band perform country songs. It was very interesting because they were trying to impersonate the US through country, since it was our independance day. My cheeks hurt because I was laughing at the singers impressions and the local people trying to line dance. It was a lot of fun tho!
Saturday- We went on a fieldtrip to the Art museum and the Colonial Cathedral here, they were gorgeous! The Cathedral is one of the only Colonial Cathedrals in the Buenas Aires Area, and the detail work is amazing. I tried to get a picture of me in the
church but it just came out blurry so you can see the detail of the other ones i took! After that we went to the art museum, i love art museums and i stayed in this one 3 hours after our tour was over just so i could look at everything! They also had a special exhibit called Peppermint Candy which is Contemporary Art form Korea. That was by far the best part of the Museum. Kiddy corner from the museum and next to the church was this giant street market with hundreds of vendors. It was also amazing, they were selling all kinds of souvineers, crafts, and clothes. I hadn't been to anytihng that big ever!
Sunday- I went with a few others to a Japonese Garden and the Zoo! The garden was gorgeous and had giant Coi! I swear they must've weighed like 20 pounds or something, they were ginormous! Anyway the flowers and landscape was beautiful. In the zoo we saw your normal lions, tigers, bears, elephants, hippos, deer, zebras...but what was different here than in the US is that they have little rat things running around freely, as opposed to the peacocks i have seen.
They also had different types of the animals you would find in the US.
Monday- I went to this local drum show. It was amazing! It was this warehouse that was just packed with people, apparently they are really big down here.
That's about it for now. Chao chicos!
Me with the FishThey really were huge! I just wanted to show everyone in comparison to me! haha
Margie with the fish! This is for Margie's mom! She told me you were looking at my pics so I thought you would like to see her too!!
Waterfall!Me standing on a rock with the waterfall flowing around me. The japanese garden was so beautiful!
Flowers!Pretty flowers blooming in the winter in the Japonese Gardin!
At the ZooA giraffe, an ostrech, and a deer hanging out all together in one place! I was so surprised to see them together I had to share with everyone!
Black Swans!I don't remember seeing these swans anywhere before...they are black with red beaks! They are so pretty!
Little Rodents! These are the little rat things I was talking about that just wander around all over. This one came right up to the camera to say cheese!
Babies!ooohh look at the little baby goats!!! ohhh they're soo cute!
SheepNever saw a half black half white sheep before...that I can remember at least. Now I have!
Toucan!I saw a toucan! We probably have these in our zoo, but I just liked it too much to not share it with you!
Great Day!Me under a sign at the Zoo! A great memory for a great day filled with lots of new animals and experiences!
