Alex had a day off work yesterday, so after I'd pushed Mum along the canal and back, we set off on a jaunt to the very start of the Montgomery canal, where it joins the Llangollen canal. I knew there are a series of locks there that become a staircase - only 4, but quite impressive. Mind you, if you've seen the 23 locks at Devizes you might not be that impressed.
