President Harry S. Truman brought some notoriety to Key West when his doctor advised him to get some rest and sun. Truman was advised the Base Commanders house was empty at Key West Naval Base. Truman visited the base, like the climate and surrounding so much he made 11 visits totaling 175 days during his administration. It became known as Harry S. Truman Little White House. Franklin D. I am a Vietnam Veteran who has been back to Vietnam ten times.
I am associated with Rotary International.
My current mission in Vietnam is going to places I have never visited. All previous times I have been a flat lander, like most Vietnamese, 80-90 percent live in the flat lands. The most I have seen of the mountains is Dalat and An Loc.
In 2005 I biked from Hanoi to Saigon. Probably the greatest trip I ever experienced.
I look forward to returning to Vietnam and enjoying the people and land of Vietnam.
