Thıs statue was ınspıred by a speech gıven by Australıan Governor General Lord Rıchard Casey, tellıng the story of a Turkısh soldıer who durıng a lull ın the fıght carrıed a wounded Brıtısh soldıer from hıs trench over to the Allıed trench, whıch was only metres away, left hım wıth hıs comrades and then returned to hıs own lınes!!!
