The deserted airport at Rarotonga

We left our little home on the Cook Islands on Sat evening 1st June and caught the bus up to the airport for our midnight flight to Los Angeles. Don our host had given us some traditional gifts as a leaving present.... you receive flowers on arrival and shells when you leave the Polynesian Islands .... and so we wore with pride our new shell necklaces. 'Adventure Before Dementia Tour!' Our travels began on Boxing Day 2012 and we headed off for a 9 month trip around the world - via New Zealand, Australia, Cook Islands and L.A Six months into that trip my beautiful and talented wife was offered a job opportunity in Perth with a visa that would allow us both to live and work in this fantastic City for four years.
