We took Old Fall River Road in Rocky Mountain National Park up to the Alpine Visitor Center. This is a great dirt road winding one way up 9 miles with lots of switchbacks. Not for the faint of heart with no guardrails and some tight drops. Many years ago we had to go the wrong way (downhill) late at night when Trail Ridge Road was closed unexpectedly for road repairs.
