The umbrella worked. Sun shone on the Blarney Stone today.

We decided there was only one thing for it. When we went down to Blarney, to the castle, we took the big, golfing umbrella with us on the scooter and it worked. Not a drop of rain today. The umbrella also proved useful for mounting and dismounting but a bit tricky to hold as we were riding along.
