After visiting Erfurt, we made a quick stop in Weimar on the way to Dessau. Weimar was the former intellectual center of Germany, the home of many famous German writers, philosophers, etc. Dessau, in the state of Saxony-Anhalt, is the home of the Bauhaus architecture style and a city that clearly exemplifies its (grubby) East German past. ... read more
