For Americans, the northern Black Hills are identified with gold. Even though Custer’s expedition first discovered gold in the central hills, the northern hills ultimately produced the most. The cities most identified with gold mining, Lead and Deadwood, have become mythic. Today started with breakfast at the campground. This particular KOA has pancakes every morning. The ... read more
