So after plenty of offers we got ourselves a houseboat for the night. Allepey is the main place from which to explore the backwaters of Kerala and known as the Venice of the East we were pretty excited. Our houseboat, or 'rice barge' hand made from wood and bamboo had a covered seating area and bedroom with ensuite bathroom, and came with a driver, an engine man and a personal chef! Welcome to our travelblog site. Over the next 12 months keep up to date with all our adventures as we try to make it around the world. Starting off by flying to Delhi on the 14th September 2006, we are hoping to make it through as many places as our money will take us.
It's been a while coming, but with after graduating from Uni and decided enough was enough at work, we headed to the travel agents to buy these tickets. An easy decision really and realising that we might just have the money to do this, or at least get us half way, we finally paid up and there was no turning back.
