Bizarre fruit with a surprise

Bet you don't know where cashews come from. Look closely at the 'stems' of these fruit. Each one is a cashew nut in a shell. Astrid told us the Dutch name for this fruit, but I'd rather forget it. The fruit has the most unpleasant odour I've ever experienced (resembling the smell from a malfunctioning catalitic converter). The taste can politelybe described as 'acquired'. Locals eat the fruit and discard the nuts.
