After leaving Whangamata we went to Opoutere beach for a walk. It is alongside an estuary and nature reserve but the beach itself was rather windswept. We were planning on walking along the beach and then back by the estuary but the tide was too high and we couldn’t get across the inlet to walk by the estuary. Mark and I are taking a year out from our jobs to travel the world. Mark has attempted to travel twice before, first time he liked one place so much he stayed for the year and the second time he encountered a few visa issues along the way so returned early. A year out and jobs to come back to we are looking to do everything we possible can in the year away.
