Summary: Like the Summer Palace the Western Hills are somewhere to escape urban life. Mr Chairman Mao Zedong also lived here for a brief time. The hills are divided in three magnificent parks. The botanical garden (we did not visit because it was overcrowded on saterday). We went to Xiangshan and Badachu. Also a little bit overcrowded, but still very nice to visit.
