Water Pipeline Perth to Kalgoorie

Tremendous piece of engineering by C Y O'Connor. Named the Golden Pipeline and runs for 557 kms Mundaring Reservoir to the Goldfields. BUT the poor bugger got so much stick because the water didn't arrive on the day he said (or the next day, or the next day......) that he topped himself. The next day...... the water arrived! He never knew what a great acheivment he had done and died thinking he had failed. RESPECT!!
