So that's why they call it the rainforest!!! March 27th 2011 Dave had booked us into the Sepilok Forest Edge Resort for a few nights, which had a hot shower so I was happy! The resort is situated on the edge of the Orangutan sanctuary so it's surrounded by jungle, making it a haven for wildlife. We first went to Thailand in 2006 and fell in love with the relaxed, candlelit vibe of the Phi Phi islands.
Well, a lot's changed in four years. The exchange rate has almost halved which means double the price for beer (bad times), but hopefully the things that first attracted us to this part of the world still remain.
Our three months away starts in Phuket, and will take us through Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, Borneo and the Philippines.
