Took slow train for 4 hours North West of Bangkok to Kanchanaburi, home of the famous Bridge over the River Kwai. Like this town perched right along River Kwai where you can stay in rafthouses on the river. Stayed at VN Guesthouse right on the river with a fantastic restuarant with lots of great Thai curries!
