Some books and maps refer to this town as Jonesboro while others spell the name of the town Jonesborogh. Regardless it is a neat little town in far eastern Tennessee. It is the oldest town in Tennessee and was actually founded in 1779 seventeen years before Tennessee became a state. The current population is around 4000.
