From Luang Prabang we headed further north, in to the uplands, to Nong Kiaow for a bit of tranquility before leaving Laos. Our driver was sane and the scenery still beautiful as we wound our way through the hills, past small villages, rice fields, plantation and forest and scrubby hillsides. We had some very chatty companions on our bus although we kept our noses in our books, being as sociable ... read more
