Pablo and I decided to spend a day in Puerto Varas to see why it was so much more popular a destination that Puerto Montt and indeed found it a world apart. It is a beautiful resort town, filled with people relaxing by the lake - in contrast to the grimy sailor's port town we're staying in such a short distance away.
