Freeport, Maine is known mostly for being the home of the famous L.L. Bean Company. Its flagship store is here, open 24 hours a day, and said not to even have locks on the doors. In fact, I confirmned it, no locks on the main doors. The tradition began when predawn hunters could stop by to pick up supplies and equipment on their way out. Recent travels to all continents except Antarctica. Preference for do it yourself trips, meeting locals, and learning local customs and food. I have been doing a daily travel diary through email for the last several years(mostly Asia), and received many compliments from friends. I plan to visit the following in the years to come: Turkey, Afrika, Alaska, Greece, and Russia. I went to Japan in March 2009 and drove a lot of the length of Chile with my golf buddy in September 2009. Things like the Orient Express and the Trans Siberian Railway interest me.
