Kartlis Deda is supposed to be a symbol of the Georgian spirit. The sword signifies how she's constantly having to defend herself from invaders. And the wine is supposed to symbolize hospitality, but I think it just symbolizes drunkeness.

This afternoon we hiked up to Narikala fortress which sits atop one of the hills overlooking Tbilisi. The hike wasn't particularly long, but it was steep and the day was hot.
