Processing Coffee Beans
This is my guide Joel, in the blue shirt, using an old family mortar & pestle beating the husks off the coffee beans, while in the background his family was sorting beans. We bought some fresh roasted and unroasted beans. His family house is on the side of the mountain, a good climb down from the road and just around a corner from the first falls at Sipi. It rained pretty hard before we left so we stayed inside Joel's parents house and they served us some of the coffee. It was great. The coffee processing job was very interesting and I got a video of the whole bit...you all can see it when I get home.
