Julia's Chinese Craft Shop
We love to shop here. The gal on the left is a university student who speaks excellent English. We met her just after Christmas and she remembers everything we bought, who we bought it for, colors etc. A great marketing person. We think she learned her stuff from Julia, the gal on the right, who has an amazing skill for introducing you to products that you never dreamed you wanted. They have lots more for us to choose from. We really have a lot of fun spending money there. Julia told me they could ship whatever we wanted where ever we wanted. I said I could be her marketing agent in Canada. She said she would pay me 20%. I don't think she was kidding!

Our first school year in China is finally drawing to a close. Term 4 has been very eventful. Dianne has really enjoyed her new job. Working in the same building as her replacement has allowed her to keep her finger on the pulse of a real operation while she does her head office functions. These involve the preparation of a lot of new course materials as well as many different exam papers for stude ... read more

The WilsonsInChina blog charts the course of our three year adventure in China between 2008 and 2011. Dianne was a school administrator in Canada and heard about this opportunity just after retiring. Peter was an IT professional whose last contract ended just as Dianne decided that China sounded like an exciting adventure. He taught ESL one year but spent the rest of the time supporting Dianne as she shared her great knowledge and experience with the Chinese and Western teachers at the Maple Leaf International School in Dalian.
