Do it your self cording

When we were walking home from the market we passed these two chaps making their own short cords. They had a little BBQ-like unit (just at the edge of the picture) for heating rods. When hot enough, they would pull a bunch of cords into a bunch of the desired length then burn them through with the hot rods to seal the ends, then start over. They just sat there making literally hundreds of these things. They were quite happy that we were interested enough to take a picture, We wished we had the language skills to find out what they were used for. Maybe next year.
