Sidewalk construction
One of the neat construction techniques is brick sidewalks. With plenty of workers available they can throw up (down?) a sidewalk in no time. And the beauty is, if they need to run a pipe or something under it, they just pull up the bricks, do the work and relay the bricks. We have seen this done more than once.

Our first school year in China is finally drawing to a close. Term 4 has been very eventful. Dianne has really enjoyed her new job. Working in the same building as her replacement has allowed her to keep her finger on the pulse of a real operation while she does her head office functions. These involve the preparation of a lot of new course materials as well as many different exam papers for stude ... read more

The WilsonsInChina blog charts the course of our three year adventure in China between 2008 and 2011. Dianne was a school administrator in Canada and heard about this opportunity just after retiring. Peter was an IT professional whose last contract ended just as Dianne decided that China sounded like an exciting adventure.
