Fish Blood, a Mermaid, and the Love Motel...It is time for an escape. June 2nd 2006 Jan and I took the 3 hour KTX (Speed Train) to Busan on Friday morning. We had set this weekend aside to do some adventuring. It all started at the Seoul Station where trains and busses set off to all over Korea. They run from Seoul to Sokcho, Mokpo, and Daegu, covering the country as though they are the veins that sustain its existence.

By temperament, I am a traveler. I crave the freedom to roam, immersion into unfamiliar cultures, and spending my time working directly with people. In 2007 I started a one year adventure in Alaska that turned into five years in a blink of an eye. Alaska took me by surprise. I fell in love with the summers of hiking mountains, exploring the backcountry, and canoeing in open lakes.
