Back in 1971 Stanford University conducted a experiment, that involved placing 'good' citizens in positions of power in a prison and studying the change in their behaviour. They found even model citizens quickly become corrupt and sadistic under their new found powers. Exactly the same is happening in Cambodia, but it's no experiment.
