You would do well with a hotel in or around Sultanahmet. That way, you are where the action is. Within walking distances are the Blue Mosque; the Hippodrome; Hagia Sophia; Topikapi Palace; the Basilica Cistern; the Grand Bazaar and the Spice Bazaar. However, with Istanbul’s excellent public transportation network or taxis for that matter, you are OK in any other location. Say Europe or Asia. ... read more
