During the two days I spent in the community of 200 people, only a handful of metal pots and machetes betrayed the fact that the year was not 5000 B.C. There were also three T-shirts but these were so ragged and dirt-encrusted that they were almost indistinguishable from the grey and brown strips of woven tree bark that the women used to cover their breasts.
