I have managed to get quite far, up to Abel Tasman National Park, one of my reasons as well as to see as much as I could, was to try and go salmon fishing. However the morning weather did not look so good, so I thought I would go as far as North as I can this day and then on the way back I will stop in Takaka to go fishing.
