The globe is a kugel, a sphere of granite rotating on a pumped water film. I want to know how they make it rotate on the right axis...
As it turns it's remarkably like the BBC intro screens used to be!

Anybody who’s going travelling, please bear in mind - it’s quite a lot of work to produce a blog entry every day, and some won’t be that interesting. Today I went to work, had a walk and came home to have tea, wasn’t really hungry so I went to the library.
