11 oct So all day Saturday in El Paso , I'm on a 'strip' full of motels, typical strip malls, fast food joints and a few sleazy bars, near to the airport. There is nothing else for it but to 'get on my bike' and explore, kinda cycling in my spare time! Downtown El Paso is pretty boring, near the frontier its a bit more lively with a couple of clothes markets and shops. There is nothing to do but ... read more

I am a 47 year old ex pat Scot living in the Canary islands, Tenerife to be precise. I have been a travel addict for many years, taking the family holidays in places like Cambodia, Peru and Senegal. Last year I was so impressed on an RV tour of the Western USA that I decided it would be fun to do a solo cycle trip from coast to coast across America. It will be a challenge , but anyone who knows me will know that I thrive on challenges.
