Oct 7th I get up at 7.15 , dawn, to find the bike troup clearing away breakfast and preparing to set off , they kindly offer me their left over doughnuts and orange juice before setting off to conquer the Emory pass on the road to Kingston (the same route I'll be taking) I bid them farewell and scoff the leftovers. I'm away by 9.15, curiously I pass a group of them heading back to Silver City as ... read more

I am a 47 year old ex pat Scot living in the Canary islands, Tenerife to be precise. I have been a travel addict for many years, taking the family holidays in places like Cambodia, Peru and Senegal. Last year I was so impressed on an RV tour of the Western USA that I decided it would be fun to do a solo cycle trip from coast to coast across America. It will be a challenge , but anyone who knows me will know that I thrive on challenges.
