AREQUIPA This town was a nice change from the dunes of Huacachina. Arequipa is nestled in a valley beneath two sleeping, snow-capped volcanoes. In contrast to the sooty buildings of Lima, white volcanic rock was used for the colonial buildings and monasteries.
