Thailand’s largest island was once a major trading point between India and China where the island derived its wealth from the export of tin and rubber. Nowadays of course tourism is Phuket's main source of income and for Angela and I, it was to be the final stop of our eighteen day trip around South East Asia. My aim is to visit at least 100 countries before I'm incapable of travel anymore. (Current count is 85!). Unlike a lot of fellow travellers, I tend to only dip my feet into a country, quite often only staying a day or two before heading off somewhere else.
Country numbers 54 and 55 were my first trips alone - something I never thought I'd do.
