When I first came to Japan I always used to laugh at the Tommy Lee Jones advertisements for Boss coffee, they were everywhere I went, plastered on trains, billboards, vending machines, even bathroom stalls. I don't know why I loved the posters so much, but something about his soft wrinkly face and imperturbable gaze just used to brighten any day and make me smile for hours.
