Si Ji Dou--Green Bean Heaven
I had this dish for the first time on Saturday when I went with Jason downtown and had lunch at a popular spot by Sichuan University. I mentioned it to Jeff's girlfriend and she said she could make it. It has something called "ya cai" in it, an ingredient I've come to know and love through my consumption of "ya cai" stuffed "baozi." "Baozi" are steamed stuffed buns. Jeff did the frying of the beans and then, in the final preparation of the dish, Jeff's girlfriend did full justice to the dish I'd just tasted on Saturday.
