Little Ekanem is a cousin who, like Ijoma, has domestic worker status in the household. She was taken from her village only a few years ago and was forced to learn English. Though she wasn’t to keen on it at first, when she did, it became really apparent she was extremely bright and gets top marks in her class. When she goes to school, that is.
