Here we are in the bay at the Rocky Mountain Branch getting our gear organized and packing our bags. Notice how even in town we're wearing hats and jackets ... it was cold!

On my birthday in 2006 I bought a one-way ticket to East Africa, by way of India. For many years I had not only wanted to travel, but to stop and live in a place (or places) while immersed in other cultures.
