Campidoglio (Capitoline Hill Square)

This square is the home of the city's government and has been since ancient times. Michelangelo redesigned the square during the Renaissance. He intended people to approach the square from the bottom of the steps so this picture is just as he had planned it. We of course entered from the Roman Forum on the other side and thought it wasn't anything special until we got down here.

Ciao Ciao Well here we find ourselves in the centre of the ancient world - Roma! To be honest, while we were looking forward to seeing the sights and ticking the big box that is Rome, we were expecting to not enjoy Rome.
