The End

This semester is now underway; I’m really looking forward to some of the classes…for one of them I’ll be heading to Guangzhou for a field trip to observe some innovative bioremediation and phytoremediation processes (Here is a basic example: the use of “hyper-accumulator” plants to clean up waste waters. You can for instance have a sky garden on top of a factory and these “special” garden plants would be given waste water from the factory and they would clean up the contaminated waters; while creating a green space for employees and also giving insulation to the building and decreasing the amount of air conditioning used in the year. However, such plants can not be consumed, so you could use this method to grow flowers or trees for IKEA furniture (for instance) while cleaning polluted waters in an environmentally friendly manner.)
