The Little Mermaid

The story is actually different from the Disney story. She had her tongue cut out and with legs, walked on daggers with every step. The prince didn't end up falling in love with her, which was supposed to lead to her death. She could have prevented her own death by then killing the prince, but she wouldn't do it. So the winds told her she could join them instead of dying. But this statue is her looking out to sea, waiting for the prince.
