Bukit Lauret's Tea Station
Not much left of it now but Bukit Lauret was apparently the first hill station in Malaysia. The tea staion is located half way up the mountain (definitely didn't feel like a hill. It took me 4 hours to climb!).

Taiping is an intriguing town which the guide talked about negatively but I thought was an interesting stop on route to the coast. I also wanted to visit a hillstation and Bukit Lauret (Malaysia'a oldest) is situated just (almost all uphill, over 1400m) 12km's from the town. ... read more
