We arrived in Hanoi on New Years Day of the 'Tet' festival, which meant that Hanoi was like a ghost-town. We didn’t mind this because it gave us a chance to get ourselves acquainted geographically without too much hassle. Our first impressions of Vietnam's capital city were good.
