This is the new temple they are building as part of the UNESCO initiatives in town. Looks ancient--hard to believe it's just being built!

We really love this part of the world and, come to think of it, we may never leave. That said, we've spent the past two days exploring the wonders of Luang Prabang. It's a wee bit depressing looking at the map below and realizing how little of the world we've actually seen. But we take this as a call-to-action...and let this bold new adventure we're about to embark on be the first step in a long-overdue personal and spiritual enlightenment. Unfortunately, the dogs can't come with... :)
