We were in Tokyo for five days and I could have spent the whole vacation there. Every corner there was something new to see or do. The shopping despite the reports of it being expensive are incorrect as there wassome great little shops to be had. While I have been here I have also assembled a list of things you should bring or purchase as soon as you land to make your life easier in Japan...and mo ... read more

Comment on Kokkosho Temple
Iwent on a short trip to China and Japan for six weeks. last time I was in Harbin in 2004 which was in the far north. This time I am hitting Beijing, Xi an, Hong Kong and Macau. Japan will be very meaningful as I was there in April of 1992...wow. Dave will be meeting me there and we´ll hit Tokyo, Kamakura, Kyoto, Osaka and Gifu City where we are staying with friends.
Second trip that I blogged was to Princeton NJ and Ottawa, for conferences. Different than the first but still a lot of fun.... full info
