Stayed at Kyoto for 4 nights, in a traditional Japanese style tatami room. This means a shared bathroom, toilet, futon beds, communal dinning area and a lovely room with sliding doors. I qualified as a teacher in 1997 and have been teaching ever since. Thoroughly enjoying my job, I took the first brave steps to having a career break. Selling my flat and minimalising my belongings and gradually throwing useful travelling things into my backpack ready for the first leg of the journey on Monday 23rd July.
